heather and matt, lovebirds

Heather and Matt are officially looooooove birds! Congratulations!
Their love bird cake is inspired from Martha Strewart's winter bird cake, but I added some foliage since its summer, and a hot one indeed. I'm not sure where the log came from exactly, but a few people pulled some strings, and it made the perfect cake stand. I think this is my favourite cake so far!

Chocolate cake, white chocolate buttercream icing, and chocolate cake. Plain and Simple, but out of this world. Here is the photo of the cake cutting: http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc4/hs221.snc4/38378_10150223229150117_660690116_13429482_831366_n.jpg

Simple Winter Wedding

This cake is a vanilla cake, filled with layers of lemon curd, strawberries and buttercream. I know...NOT winter ingredients in Ontario.
This is one of my favourite wedding cakes because it was so classic looking, and the different ribbons were really pretty and added nice texture and height to the cake.

Here you can see some detail on the back. I closed the ribbons with little bows.

The Pink Dress Cake

I had a hard time keeping it simple, so I really had to stop working on it right away. Apparently the bridesmaids had some dresses the same shade of pink as this ribbon! Wooooh!

Jacey and Ryan's Wedding Cake

Photo thanks to: Steve Brooks Photography
Jacey and Ryan love chocolate, so I made 3 tiers of chocolate cake: the bottom tier with chocolate cake and chocolate mousse and raspberry jelly, the middle tier with chocolate cake, white chocolate buttercream, and sour cherries, and the top tier with chocolate cake, and mocha mousse. The whole cake is covered in buttercream...and also I made the letters with fondant. I also included the baby cupcakes with gold foils, to mach the gold cake board and lettering.

Another Wedding Cake

I made this wedding cake for a very nice couple who got married at Chez Victor Restaurant in Hotel le Germain on New Year's day.

Inside the cake is Chocolate Chiffon Cake, Vanilla Chiffon Cake, and chocolate Mousse. I covered the cake with white chocolate buttercream and fondant.

I hope to have some better photos in the near future.

Catharine's Wedding Cake

I made this cake for the wedding of a really fantastic, talented and beautiful woman, my old boss at hotel le germain. This was a chocolate cake with white chocolate buttercream layers with raspberries. I covered the entire thing with more buttercream.
